FREE wedding photography workshop online.
Creative live has some outstanding training opportunities coming up in 2012. The next scheduled online training will be held Fri, 1/27/2012 - 9am. This is a 3 day training seminar and will last until 4pm each day. The best part about it is that if you register now you can watch it online absolutely free. That's right free, to sit in the comfort of your own home or at your favorite Internet hot spot and enjoy hours of training for wedding photographers of all skill levels.
Whether you are a seasoned professional or just trying to find out if wedding photography is right for you then this might just be worth your time to check it out. I mean, what do you have to lose except a few hours in your easy chair.
The first training that I received as a wedding photographer was at my very first wedding and boy was that a huge mistake. I had read several books and watched some YouTube video's and thought that would be enough. Was I ever in for a surprise, trying to manage a wedding shoot is like trying to herd cats through a tuna factory. It didn't go quite as planned as you might imagine. The photos turned out fine and the bride was pleased however my lack of knowledge on the subject caused me to spend many, tedious hours at the computer fixing thing's that I now know to avoid.
I have attended a few of the training sessions offered by Creative Online and I have been more than satisfied with the content of each and every one. I always come away from it with a new lease on my business and new ideas or directions to take it. So come on and join me Fri, 1/27/2012 - 9am on Creativelive.com

Canon EOS T2I tips #1
The Canon T2i also known as the 550d is a great camera for digital photography enthusiast's and those just starting a photography business. With a little practice and allot of patience you can get amazing photos and video from this camera.
Tip #1 for the T2i is to read the owners manual and become familiar with all the controls. Now you may be saying well duh! However too many people just grab the camera switch to one of the automatic modes and start shooting. The automatic modes are good but you will begin to realize that you are very limited in what you can accomplish.
Finally don't be afraid to experiment with different settings. Just remember what you did and try to understand why those settings gave you the results that they did. Also your camera came with a log book so I suggest, at least in the beginning that you use it. Writing down what settings worked may help you understand why later.

Want to be a model?
I am always amazed by the fact that young women and men respond to ads posted on sites such as Craig's list that claim they are looking for models for "legitimate" modeling jobs. They almost always ask for photos of the models wearing next to nothing and sometimes even ask for nude photos. Here is a little hint to any of you that want to get into modeling.
If the spelling and grammar are terrible in the add then Do Not send in photos that show your face. Most importantly do not give out your personal information such as address or phone number. In this day and age it is just too risky and any legitimate photographer is going to make sure that there post, no matter where it is listed is of the highest quality possible.
I hope to have more photography related posts coming soon but I could not wait to post this information.
Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas.
